I started woodworking many years ago with my grandfather. I wanted to make a custom set of dressers for my wife and myself. My grandfather was excited to help me and teach me what he knew about woodworking as he spent most of his time in his garage woodshop or his garden. I was hooked, I ended up taking logs from tree jobs that I did and had them sawed.
Eventually, I bought a used Woodmizer Lt40 super hydraulic sawmill. I ended up only keeping the sawmill for a year, as I realized quickly, that i had cut way more wood than I could ever use in my lifetime.
Most of the wood that I use for projects, was trees that I removed for customers, sawed, and had kiln dried.
I fell down the blacksmithing rabbit hole in 2014. It all started when I thought it would be neat to make my own knife. I bought a forge, anvil and forged out my first knife from old farrier's rasp. Next thing I knew, I was taking tong making and hammer making classes. I started selling custom knives and hammers.
Wanting to expand my know how, I took a flip folding knife class with Jim Minnick at his shop in Indiana. It opened a whole other world in knifemaking.
Spring of 2024, I got the opportunity to take a folding knife and an automatic folding knife class with Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley. I learned his way to make folding knifes and how to make small knifes that fit well into your pocket. I learned fine details, like spending the time to do file work on screws, that cant even be seen unless you take the knife apart.
After making the decision to stop offering tree services at my lawn and tree service company, I wanted to add another service that i could do at home in my shop.
I purchased a 4'x 8' Lincoln cnc plasma table. I could then start producing custom metal table bases for wooden table tops. I can also cut art, and parts. I have a good selection of metal plate, bar, and tubing in stock.
With having the ability to Stick, Mig, and tig weld, I can fabricate whatever parts you're looking to have made. Since I started my landscaping company in 2006, I have always fixed my equipment for the most part. That including welding and fabrication of parts to get the equipment back up and running. If you need something welded, don't hesitate to get ahold of me for a quote.
Whether you have an existing railing that needs repaired, or are looking to have a new one made, I would be happy to help.
